1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit the Book a Demo form, we collect:

  • Your first and last name, work email address, and phone number
  • Your restaurant or brand name, number of locations, and restaurant website
  • Your current point-of-sale (POS) system and the services you are interested in
  • Anything else you choose to tell us in the message field

If you email us directly, we collect the information included in your email.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website.

We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this website.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your demo request and schedule a call with you
  • Communicate with you about WAVL’s services, including follow-up about your request
  • Understand your restaurant’s needs so we can tailor our recommendations
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website
  • Detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraud
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us run the website and respond to you, and only as needed for those purposes:

  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) processes demo form submissions and delivers them to us by email.
  • Our email provider stores the demo requests and messages we receive.
  • Netlify hosts this website and processes the technical information described above.
  • Google Fonts delivers the fonts used on this website. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google, which receives your IP address.
  • jsDelivr and unpkg deliver open-source animation libraries used on this website. Your browser requests these files directly, and these providers receive your IP address.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, property, or safety of WAVL, our users, or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

4. Cookies and local storage

WAVL does not set cookies on this website. If you change settings in the Accessibility panel (such as text size, contrast, or pausing animations), those preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage so they persist between visits. This information stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can be cleared at any time with the panel’s “Reset to default” button or your browser settings.

The third-party providers listed above may receive standard technical information (such as your IP address) when your browser loads their files, under their own privacy policies.

5. Data retention

We keep demo requests and related correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and to manage our business relationship, generally no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you unless you become a customer or the law requires us to keep it longer. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where we rely on it
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time

To make a request, contact us using the form on our Book a Demo page. Describe your request (for example, “Privacy request: delete my information”) in the “Anything else we should know?” field, and we will reply to the email address you provide. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

7. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) gives you the rights described above to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information. In the past 12 months we have collected identifiers (such as name, email, and phone number), commercial information (such as your restaurant details and interests), and internet activity information (such as server logs), for the business purposes described in this policy. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

8. International visitors

WAVL is based in California, United States, and the information we collect is processed in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data protection laws, we process your information to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (responding to your demo request) and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing our website and growing our business. By using the website, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s privacy

This website is intended for restaurant owners, operators, and other business users. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.

12. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us using the form on our Book a Demo page. Mention “Privacy” in the “Anything else we should know?” field, and we will respond by email.
